The hotel is situated close to the Matsumoto Bus Terminal and Matsumoto Station, just across from a few konbinis like Family Mart and Lawson. It is situated on the 6th floor but it has an elevator. The check in process in simple, they gave me a map and a set of instructions. They explained where everything is in English. They gave us a Yukata and a locker key. There is also a coin laundry room, a sento and shower room. As well as a working space with free water. They provided us toothbrush, toothpaste, shaving knife, as well as other toiletries such as towels and a small towel for the sento. The checkout process is easy, just give the locker key to the receptionist. The capsule itself is quite spacious. It has a fan but I don’t know where the blower is, not sure if it works or not. It sure sounds loud tho. The capsule is a bit hot for my taste. As I sleep, it gets colder hence more comfortable. Below the Hotel M Matsumoto is a great stationery store. Spent a lot of time and money there.

I had a really good stay at Hotel M Matsumoto. All of the staff were very kind and always tried their best to help whenever I asked something in English. I really appreciated their effort and hospitality. Honestly, this should be the standard for hotels in Japan — hotels welcome people from all around the world, so having at least basic English support makes guests feel much more comfortable. Special good job to one of the international staff members as well — he explained everything very clearly and were extremely helpful. The capsule area was also very comfortable and well maintained. The facilities were complete, including hair dryers, hair straighteners, cotton buds, and other amenities, which made the stay very convenient. One small suggestion for improvement would be the air conditioning inside the capsule room. It felt a little stuffy at night, so I ended up sleeping with the curtain slightly open to get better airflow. It would be even better if the room could be kept a bit cooler. I also hope the hotel can consider adding shoe laundry or shoe drying machines in the future. Many guests staying here are probably visiting Kamikochi. I happened to go during rainy weather, and my shoes got completely wet, but there was no place to properly dry them. Overall, I truly enjoyed my stay and would definitely come back again when visiting Kamikochi in the future.

I recently stayed at Hotel M Matsumoto and had a wonderful experience. One of the biggest advantages of this hotel is its excellent location. It is conveniently located near Matsumoto Station, making it easy to travel around the city and visit nearby attractions. There are also plenty of cafes, restaurants, and convenience stores within walking distance. The staff were very friendly, welcoming, and helpful throughout my stay.I booked a private room, which offered much more space than a typical sleeping pod or capsule hotel. I was able to comfortably open my luggage, organize my belongings, and move around without feeling cramped. The room was also very quiet, allowing me to rest well after a long day of traveling and sightseeing. One of my favorite features of the hotel was the large public bath. It was a great place to relax and unwind after exploring the city. Although the hours for female guests were somewhat limited, I still really enjoyed having access to this facility. The common area was also very comfortable and well-maintained. Guests can borrow a wide selection of manga for free, which was a nice touch. Another great benefit is the complimentary bicycle rental service, allowing guests to use bicycles for up to three hours free of charge.Overall, I had a very pleasant stay and would highly recommend Hotel M Matsumoto to anyone planning to visit Matsumoto. The combination of its convenient location, comfortable rooms, excellent facilities, and friendly staff makes it a great choice for travelers.

One of the best hostels I’ve ever stayed in, there are sooo many free amenities towels, hairdryer, straighter, shampoos, a whole range of facial treatments, it was amazing! The onsen is clean and the facilities are huge. It was clean and had a great choice of free tea and coffee in the social area, lots of charging points and computers. Staff were friendly and helpful. I stayed in a women’s pod and it was spacious I had my own desk and locker. Overall really impressed and would stay again thanks!

This hotel is perfect for location and budget price. The room space is standard for two people sleeping on double bed with limited place for big luggage. The hotel front is convenient and have convenient stores for purchasing daily vanity kits. The bathtub and hot/cold shower is OK and TV/power outlets is adequate for charging my gadgets. There has lockers for keeping my shoes for free and transferred to use hotel slippers. It's not convenient for tourists using private or rented car for finding nearby parking space.

A modern version of capsule hotel. Initially I was concerned on the space constraints but this hotel proof me wrong. A small space for a table& chair & cabinet . The bed either lower or upper is clean, spacious & comfortable. There is a public bath with limited time for ladies. Great for layover @overnight stay.

Convenient location next to the train station and restaurants and walking distance to all the touristy destinations. I've stayed at a few capsule hotels before and this one is a little clunky and not as straight forward. It's located on the 6th floor of a commercial mall building. The stores close at 8pm so I think you have to use a different entrance to enter and exit? The layout is like a maze. The bathrooms are a bit far from the rooms. I'm also very confused about the bathroom/shower situation. There's a communal bath/bathroom/showers area but the women have access to this area at 3-7p and the men have access in the morning and evening. I assume there's emergency bathrooms and showers elsewhere if you want to use these facilities out of your gender's designated time? The capsule rooms have a nice fan and lighting system. It's also more spacious than other capsule rooms I've been in. The walls between the capsules are super thin. Biggest plus is that it was super affordable. I guess you get what you pay for.

Had a lovely stay at this hotel. The staff were really friendly and helpful, facilities and location were excellent. They left us a little package outside the room when it wasn’t cleaned which was a nice touch. They had bikes which you could use for free for 3 hours which was a great bonus. Allowed us to go up to the alps park, although the ride needed some walking with the hills!
