Staying at Grand Hotel Vesuvio is an annual tradition for my wife and I as a celebration of her birthday. The view of the Bay of Naples from our room in this elegant and historic hotel and its location on the shoreline cannot be beat. The excellent Staff from the Front Desk to Housekeeping and everywhere in between make every stay enjoyable and special. Many of the Staff are long term employees and we attribute that and their excellent service to the proven capabilities of the General Manager, Mrs. Maria Claudia Cardinale. When we see her name on Welcome Notes we are reminded that we are in good hands. My wife and I have also stayed at this hotel for Valentines and Capodanno (New Year’s Eve. The latter was an experience of a lifetime.

Amazing hotel! It is full of elegance and class. I loved the breakfast buffet. You can choose from a wide array of fruits, cakes, pastries and of course hot foods such as bacon, eggs, sausages etc. They can also make you a fresh omelette. Filipo was very friendly and accommodating! The staff were attentive and happy to answer any questions. The room itself was very nice and clean. I liked the amenities kit that they gave you and also the waterfall shower. The solarium on the 10th floor is amazing. It is a must visit if you stay at the hotel. The bar looks out to the sea and the castle opposite. It is very tranquil. Would definitely visit again, thank you :)

Hotel Vesuvio has some good points, but overall I expected much more from a 4-star hotel. Positives: The shuttle bus service is very convenient, free parking is a big plus, and the hotel is in a good location. The cocktails at the first-floor bar were excellent. The barman makes very good drinks and the prices are reasonable. Negatives: Unfortunately, the breakfast was horrible and definitely not what I would expect from a 4-star hotel. The swimming pool towel policy is also very disappointing. You receive only one towel per person for the whole week. If you want a fresh/washed towel, you have to pay $5 each time. In my opinion, this is unhygienic and ridiculous for a 4-star hotel. There is also a strong smell of cigarettes in many areas of the hotel. The rooms are very basic — for example, there isn’t even a kettle to make tea or coffee in the room. Overall, the hotel has some advantages, especially the location, parking, shuttle service and bar, but for a 4-star hotel you should expect a much higher standard. The hotel feels very dated, and you notice it every day during your stay. It definitely needs renovation and improvements to its facilities and service.

Our stay at the Grand Hotel Vesuvio was absolutely exceptional from start to finish. The location is unbeatable, with breathtaking views of the Bay of Naples and Mount Vesuvius. The rooms were elegant, spotless, and incredibly comfortable. The staff went above and beyond to make our stay memorable, providing outstanding service with genuine warmth and professionalism. Every interaction made us feel welcomed and valued. The restaurants, breakfast, and rooftop views were spectacular, making every meal a memorable experience. If you’re looking for luxury, impeccable service, and one of the best hotels in Naples, the Grand Hotel Vesuvio is the perfect choice. We can’t wait to return!

The hotel pool is lovely and plenty of sun loungers. The rooms are very clean but the shower pressure is poor and ranges from too hot to cold . Breakfast is ok. Plenty of choice and good coffee. Fruit is tinned. Evening meals - ok if you like instant mash and very cheap meat cuts. We ate for 3 nights out of seven. Went into Sorrento town for very good reasonably priced food instead of the mediocre at best food included in our holiday package at the hotel. Rooms not great soundproofing so bring earplugs if you are a light sleeper

Grand Hotel Vesuvio is a beautiful, historic property in one of the best locations in Naples. The views over the Bay of Naples are absolutely stunning and were easily one of the highlights of our stay. Being right on the waterfront made it easy to explore the city while still enjoying a peaceful setting. The hotel has a timeless elegance, and you can really feel its history throughout the property. We also enjoyed the spa, which was a wonderful place to relax after long days of sightseeing. Most of all, the staff made our stay memorable. Everyone—from the concierge to the front desk and housekeeping—was incredibly kind, professional, and genuinely helpful, always happy to assist with recommendations, transportation, and anything else we needed. The only reason for four stars instead of five is that a few aspects of the property feel ready for a refresh. Overall, though, it’s a classic Naples hotel with an unbeatable location, spectacular views, and exceptional hospitality

After a terrible experience at a nearby hotel, we arrived at the Grand Hotel Vesuvio around 4:00 a.m., exhausted and hoping for a place to rest. From the moment we walked in, we were treated with genuine kindness and professionalism. A special thank you to Bruno, who welcomed us warmly and made the late-night check-in effortless. His hospitality immediately turned our night around. Our room was spotless, comfortable, and exactly what we needed. The service throughout our stay was exceptional, and the room service breakfast the next morning was absolutely phenomenal. The Grand Hotel Vesuvio truly saved our trip. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience and would highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Naples. We will absolutely be back in a heartbeat!
