A well-rounded and charming resort hotel in Onna with a relaxed, laid-back vibe. The room was spacious, well maintained, and offer beautiful ocean views. Buffet breakfast was great with a wide variety of options. Location is great with many restaurants nearby in a few minutes. Most of the staffs are friendly and helpful, however, the experience at the Marine Counter was disappointing (not the lifeguard!). Despite travelling to Japan many times , this was the first time we encountered service that felt cold and impolite. Given the price of the room, it was frustrating to be charged extra for beach chairs and umbrellas. After paying 2,400 yen for two chairs, we returned to request an exchange for a set that included an umbrella within 10 mins. The staff stared at us and said “NO,” then showed us a translation stating that the refund policy was included in the package. This did not seem to be a language barrier, but rather a matter of attitude. The experience was off-putting enough that we chose not to use the indoor pool and onsen, which also required extra fees (1500 Yen pp). Parking was an additional 500 Yen per night as well.

We stayed at Hotel Monterey Okinawa for a family birthday trip, but it was a terrible experience. Our young child fell ill and the hotel refused to offer any room service or even allow takeaway food from the restaurant. They also enforced a ridiculous water policy: only 3 bottles per room per day for adults, and children were not entitled to any, even when sick. The front desk staff was impatient and dismissive throughout. This is not the hospitality we expected, and I would not recommend this hotel for families. Not family-friendly at all. We will not return.

Very friendly staff. Top clean hotel. Very confortable rooms (apart from the automatic movement sensor in the hall turning the lights on in the middle of the night. We had to mask the sensor with tape!). Food is average. And the queuing for breakfast slightly irritating… The tea lounge proposes nice ice creams and cocktails, but the policy of the hotel forbids them to sell take away drinks!!! Complete nonsense in such an environment where it would such a delight to enjoy drinks on your balcony facing the Ocean… Honestly, what a weird business strategy… The pool is absolutely immaculate, and was very enjoyable… Parking available. Very good wifi coverage. Once again, 5 stars for the personal, the amenities and the cleanness. 3 for the business strategy and food quality.

Nice and beautiful resort with free parking. We stayed there as it is around mid way from Naha to the Aquarium. Breakfast buffet was tasty. We took the Luxury Room which was very spacious and the sea/pool/beach view was awesome. If you want to use the gym/indoor pool/sauna facilities, you have to pay a fee per person per day - In our opinion, the hotel already charges a premium on its room prices and should not charge extra for standard facilities like gym and indoor pool.

We will not return. Replied: Take away Food/room service is the basic service as a hotel around the world. Hotel staff declined to provide drinking water for the kids. Such treatment towards children is unreasonable and unkind. This hotel is definitely not family-oriented. Families planning trips are recommended to choose other accommodations cautiously accordingly their manners and poor service standards By the way, The beach is full of gravel. We also found broken glass on the beach during our stay, which poses a high risk of cutting people’s feet. It is obvious that the hotel has not carried out any cleaning work at all. The service is extremely poor. For a resort, its overall standard is really unsatisfactory. And your customers service strategy is so poor too, especially who is responsible to deal with guest reply, including mine or other guests comments.

Hotel Monterey Okinawa Spa & Resort is a fantastic hotel where everything runs smoothly and efficiently. The property is beautiful, well-maintained, and offers a high standard of comfort throughout the stay. One of the biggest advantages is the large number of swimming pools, making it easy to relax even when the hotel is busy. The beach is absolutely stunning – clean, well-kept, and perfect for relaxing. It was definitely one of the highlights of our stay. The only downside was the beach loungers. They were quite uncomfortable and felt out of place compared to the overall quality of the resort. For a hotel of this standard, better beach furniture would make a big difference. Overall, we had a wonderful stay. Great facilities, a beautiful beach, and excellent organization. We would be happy to return and highly recommend this hotel.

Beautiful sea view at the room. The resort is huge (with spa, indoor playground, etc) and you can access the beach directly through their lift. The rooms are quite spacious with bathtub. They have international buffet - not limited to Jap cuisine only. Short stay but we had fun at the beach.

Good hotel in quiet location. Would recommend for a few days but not longer as limited things to do within close proximity of hotel. Staff somewhat limited with English - but they do try their best. Also many add ons at the hotel which was a surprise.
