Legacy Vacation Resorts Kissimmee & Orlando - Near Disney

The best time to visit Orlando is from November through April, when rain is scarce and temperatures are mild, with highs in the low to mid 20s°C. May and October are still pleasant but start to get warmer and wetter. June through September is the hottest and rainiest stretch, with daily highs around 32°C and frequent afternoon thunderstorms, especially in July and August. For the most comfortable weather, aim for the winter and early spring months.

For theme park access, stay in the Lake Buena Vista area near Disney, where the Four Seasons Resort Orlando and Waldorf Astoria Orlando are located. International Drive suits those wanting easy access to Universal and SeaWorld, with options like Universal's Loews Sapphire Falls Resort. Downtown Orlando around Lake Eola Park is a good fit for a more local, walkable feel. Choose based on which parks you plan to visit most.

Universal Orlando Resort and Universal Islands of Adventure are top picks for immersive theme park experiences. SeaWorld Orlando offers marine life shows and rides, while Discovery Cove provides a more relaxed, all-inclusive day with dolphin encounters. Gatorland showcases Florida's wildlife with alligator shows and a boardwalk. Lake Eola Park is a scenic downtown spot for a stroll or swan boat ride.

Full-day tours from Orlando go to the Kennedy Space Center, where you can see launch pads and exhibits, and to historic St. Augustine, the oldest city in the U.S. with its fort and old town. A manatee snorkeling tour takes you to a natural spring to swim with manatees. If you prefer staying closer, a day trip to the Gulf coast beaches like Clearwater or Tampa is a well-known option, though not covered by these tours.

Plan 4 to 5 days. Use 2 to 3 days for Universal Orlando Resort and Universal Islands of Adventure, 1 day for SeaWorld Orlando, and a half day for ICON Park or Gatorland. Add Lake Eola Park for an evening stroll. A day trip to Kennedy Space Center or St. Augustine needs an extra day.
