Raffles Hotel Le Royal absolutely lives up to the Raffles name. There is a wonderful old-world elegance to this nearly 100-year-old hotel, a building filled with history and character. Having read many books about Cambodia in which the hotel was mentioned, it almost felt like an honour to finally be able to stay here. The atmosphere is quite unique: elegant without being ostentatious, discreet, beautifully decorated and incredibly peaceful. Despite its central location in Phnom Penh, the hotel feels like a little oasis of calm away from the bustle of the city. The service was outstanding throughout our stay. The complimentary tuk-tuk service to take guests around Phnom Penh was such a lovely touch, and the drivers were exceptionally kind and helpful. A very special mention must go to Penh Khan, with whom I spent quite a lot of time. He was absolutely wonderful – warm, helpful and genuinely kind – and contributed enormously to making our stay so memorable. Tingkea Lech, our private butler, was equally attentive and helpful, always available to book restaurants, make recommendations or give us advice on where to go. Nothing ever felt like too much trouble. The pool is beautiful and wonderfully peaceful, the perfect place to relax after exploring Phnom Penh. Breakfast was excellent: à la carte, unlimited, with delicious, high-quality products. And after several weeks travelling around Southeast Asia, I have to admit that I eventually needed a burger – and the one I had here was genuinely one of the best I have ever eaten! Our room was beautiful, with that timeless colonial luxury and old-world charm that suits the history of the hotel perfectly. What impressed us perhaps most, however, were all the thoughtful personal touches. We were celebrating my father’s 80th birthday, and the hotel made the occasion very special. When my father became unwell, they were also incredibly considerate and arranged a late check-out for us. These gestures made a real difference. Raffles Hotel Le Royal combines history, elegance, discretion and exceptional service in a way that very few hotels manage to do. More importantly, the warmth of the people working there made our stay truly unforgettable. A perfect score from us. I would return without hesitation.

Such a wonderful experience. Today I attended Raffles Hotel to enjoy a Gin Tasting Experience - a birthday gift and a recommendation from a close friend of mine. From the second I entered the hotel I was welcomed by warm friendly staff. Chary, Lobby Manager greeted me and gave me a nice tour of the hotel. Her knowledge of the hotel and its history was fascinating to listen too and for someone who is deeply invested in Cambodia and Khmer culture, learning the history of the hotel was very interesting for me. I was then handed over to the staff in the Elephant Bar. The gin selection was incredible - from local Cambodian gins to British, Italian, French, the variety was amazing. The bar staff were all fantastic but I need to give a special mention to Piseth whose knowledge of the gins was incredible and his service was brilliant. This was a birthday gift I will never forget and an experience I would recommend to anyone.

I am a regular guest at this hotel. This is one of the best hotels I know of. The atmosphere is simply breathtaking. The staff is highly competent, friendly and welcoming. They appear to like their workplace since the overall turnover of the staff is very low. The quality of the services has remained very high and stable over the years.

⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ The Greatest Hotel Experience We’ve Ever Had – Raffles Phnom Penh After staying at and visiting many of the finest hotels in Phnom Penh including Sofitel, Rosewood, Hyatt, NagaWorld 1, and NagaWorld 2, I can say with complete confidence that nothing even comes close to Raffles Phnom Penh. From the moment we arrived, every single person made us feel like family. The young ladies and young men at the front desk are some of the kindest, most professional, caring, and genuinely welcoming people we have ever met. Their communication, attention to detail, and willingness to help with absolutely anything is simply world class. During our stay, we have had the privilege of meeting more than 70 different employees, and I can honestly say that every single one greeted us with a smile, kindness, respect, and an eagerness to help. Whether it was housekeeping, concierge, security, the restaurant team, the shuttle drivers, or the bell staff, every employee consistently delivered five star service with genuine warmth. The restaurants deserve special recognition. We dined all over Phnom Penh, including Hachi at Sofitel, Rosewood, Hyatt, NagaWorld 1, and NagaWorld 2. While those hotels have their strengths, the food at Raffles is simply on another level. Every meal was exceptional, every server was attentive, and every dining experience exceeded our expectations. In our opinion, Raffles serves the best food in all of Phnom Penh. What makes this review especially meaningful is that we weren’t in Cambodia on vacation. We came for a deeply personal matter that involved multiple visits to prisons, the U.S. Embassy, and attorney offices. It was an emotionally exhausting and challenging time. Throughout it all, the staff at Raffles supported us with genuine compassion, encouragement, flexibility, and understanding. They didn’t just provide outstanding hospitality they provided comfort when we needed it most. That level of care is something we will never forget. I also want to recognize the General Manager. The excellence of this hotel clearly starts with exceptional leadership. The culture she has created is reflected in every employee we encountered. The professionalism, consistency, warmth, teamwork, and pride throughout the hotel are remarkable. It is obvious she has built something truly special, and every member of her team deserves recognition for carrying out that vision so beautifully. Luxury hotels are easy to find. People who genuinely care are rare. Raffles Phnom Penh has both. Thank you to every member of the Raffles family for making an incredibly difficult trip so much easier through your kindness, compassion, and unmatched hospitality. Without question, this is the finest hotel experience we have ever had, and we will never stay anywhere else when visiting Phnom Penh. To everyone considering where to stay: stop searching and book Raffles. You will understand exactly what true five star hospitality feels like. Thank you again to the entire Raffles team. From the moment we stepped out of the airport and were met by the team for our transfer, Phnom Penh seemed to fall away behind us. By the time we arrived at Raffles Hotel Le Royal, we had been transported into another world entirely. The service was, quite simply, among the finest I have experienced at any hotel. Nothing felt rehearsed or overly formal. Instead, there was a remarkable sense of genuine hospitality. No request was too great, no detail too small, and somehow the team seemed to anticipate what you might need before you had even considered asking. Behind its gates, the hotel feels like a genuine oasis amid the beautiful chaos of Phnom Penh. The grounds are immaculate, lush and wonderfully maintained, a welcome sanctuary from the heat, traffic and relentless energy of the city beyond. The staff were an absolute delight, bringing warmth and personality to every interaction. Our room was exceptionally appointed, with a sense of design and history that made it feel far more distinctive than the standard luxury hotel experience. The evening turndown service and the small, thoughtful touches left by the team were the kind of details that stayed with us. Raffles Hotel Le Royal is not simply a place to sleep while visiting Phnom Penh. It is part of the experience of the city itself, a grand, beautifully preserved refuge with a soul, a sense of occasion and hospitality that is increasingly difficult to find. I had a wonderful experience during our study tour as NUMIC IBBA student at Raffles Hotel Le Royal. Our guide bong Kea was very welcoming friendly and kind throughout the tour. He guided us around the hotel and explained everything clearly which made the experience very interesting and engaging. He was also very patient with us and made us feel comfortable asking questions. We really appreciated the time he took to show us around. Thank you bong Kea for making our study tour such a great experience 🤍

What can I say. Everything I asked for was not only done immediately but also done with an enormous, glowing smile. One day, sooner rather than later I hope, the people of Cambodia will receive in return all the love they so generously give out. Many blessings to all hotel staff at this truly remarkable palace.
