Peppers Beach Club

We stayed at Pepper’s beach club for our 25th wedding anniversary. We had a two bedroom penthouse which was very spacious and had a nice balcony with full kitchen and lounge, but only one bathroom. Very nicely decorated and clean the balcony has a electric barbecue built in the wall. It’s a bit of a walk to get to the room and no elevators. We had to walk up three flights of stairs which is fine for us but might be a problem for others. There are other sections that have elevators. Service is very friendly and helpful we had a man to take our bags to our room and show us the room. It’s in a pretty good location just up the road from the beach and 10 minute walk across to the other side of the point where all the restaurants and shops are. The TV didn’t have Internet connection so you’ll need to bring your HDMI connection for your phone if you want to watch anything other than free to air TV (apparently they’ll lend you a HDMI cord). All of the rooms overlooked the pool which is fine because we’re up on the third floor, but it might be a little noisy if you were on the ground floor. There’s a restaurant on site which we haven’t tried yet, but we’re going tonight and it looks nice overlooking the pool. The pool is lovely - it’s very big and has beach style sand which is good for kids. Unfortunately as we are Queenslanders, the pool was a little cold for us at this time of year, but there were plenty of southerners swimming 😊. All in all, a pleasant place to stay and we would stay here again if we had the opportunity.

It was a great location and the pool area and look of the hotel is lovely. But most sunbeds are on a slope so aren’t really practical to lay on for any length of time. The room was quite small and not very clean. The attention to detail wasn’t good. It also lacked atmosphere because most people are self catering. It seemed to be run by a few young people and the restaurant closed early and didn’t sell|Bottled water for example. I also walked past a used sanitary towel by the pool at one point. They definitely need to work harder with the cleaning. Some staff were friendly and helpful though.

Great location near shops, restaurants and the beach, and the lagoon pool was a hit with the kids too. But in my opinion it falls short of the 5 star resort it claims to be - and the price charged. Basic things like housekeeping not replacing towels and toilet paper, calls to order room service not answered on multiple occasions, and average service at the restaurant. The room was spacious but getting dated. Worst was the noisy metal gate to the garage constantly opening and closing outside our bedroom window. I can see from other reviews that management are aware of this issue, but unfortunately haven't upgraded the gate to something quieter or reduced the rate for this room. It's a great spot for families but it just seems very expensive for what you get.

We stayed here in a spa studio just for the weekend and really enjoyed it. The hotel was very busy but all the staff were so lovely and always smiling. The restaurant was great and the staff was really nice. Breakfast every morning was very good with lots of choice. The breakfast chefs were amazing, working very hard but still making great food and being friendly. We would definitely come back.

We had a wonderful 5 night stay in a two bedroom dual key room. It was extremely clean, very large and perfect for our family of five. The staff was so courteous all the time, and you would have never known the place was sold out given the cleanliness, attention to detail, and constant interaction. The pool was also a big hit with the kids. The cherry on top was the great location. You could walk to everything including steps away from Four Mile Beach. We will definitely be back.

A Port Douglas Oasis. Right on the door step of town. A stones throw from beautiful 4 Mile Beach. We had a two bedroom apartment, fully self contained and overlooking the swimming pool. Very comfortable and well appointed. The resort is very clean and well maintained. Staff are absolutely fabulous, especially Mark who made our stay the best experience. We will definitely be back.

My travel agent booked us into Peppers but had not actually checked it out. I was slightly put off by the recent reviews however we found our room to be absolutely fine. It was clean and well|Equipped. It was large and spacious, had coffee machine, washer and drier (and washing liquid), there was air con and a fan, dish washer, microwave and oven. We had a very slow check in as there was only one person on the desk and a queue. |There was an underground carpark which provided direct access to the rooms.|The Lagoon pool and sunbeds was cleaned every morning and was nice and warm.|The restaurant did not really appeal to us as the menu was very limited. We tried the cocktails though!|Breakfast was good- cereal, fruit, yogurt, toast and pastries, cooked food bar. The coffee machine did provide lukewarm warm coffee but there was a machine in our room too.|We had our beds made and fresh towels provided each day if required. |The hotel is in a good location - 5 minutes walk to the beach and shops.|Overall a pleasant stay

We recently booked a 2-night stay but decided to check out after the first night due to a number of cleanliness and maintenance issues. On arrival, the area outside our room smelled like vomit and the room itself had a strong bleach smell. Dirty laundry and rubbish were left outside rooms for much of the day. We found mould in the shower, blue stains on the bed sheets, and stains on the spare blanket provided in the room. The biggest issue was the lack of hot water. The shower, spa and taps only produced lukewarm water. We reported this on the first day and were advised the issue could not be fixed until the following day. We also noticed cobwebs in the spa area and green algae in the sand around the pool. Overall, the cleanliness and maintenance of the resort did not meet the standard we expected from a Peppers property. That said, the staff were friendly, polite and helpful throughout our stay, and we appreciated that the hotel refunded the second night after we decided to leave early. Unfortunately, the condition of the room and facilities meant the stay was not an enjoyable experience.
