The best time to visit Shenzhen is from October to December, when temperatures are mild (21-29°C) and rain is scarce, with only 4-10 rain days per month. January and February are also pleasant and dry, though slightly cooler. Avoid June through September, the hottest and rainiest stretch, with 25-27 rain days monthly and high humidity. Spring (March to May) is warm but increasingly wet, so plan for showers if you go then.
Stay in Futian for central access to parks and the Shenzhen Convention Center, or Luohu for the old city vibe and easy border crossing to Hong Kong. The full-day tours from Shenzhen go to Dapeng Peninsula, where you can see the ancient fortress, relax on the beach, and visit Yangmeikeng. Other tours focus on the city itself, covering tech, culture, and shopping. For a classic day trip, Hong Kong is a short ride away, and you could also head to the nearby city of Guangzhou for its historic sites and food. A day trip needs an extra day.
