I had an absolutely wonderful stay at Paço do Bispo Boutique House and I can't recommend it enough if you're looking for peace, charm, and comfort near Lisbon. This is an 18th-century house that has been beautifully converted into a boutique hotel with only 11 exclusive rooms. The mix of historical architecture and contemporary design makes it feel like a cozy, elegant retreat.

Lovely boutique hotel in a quiet location. Beautiful old mansion that's been renovated and converted to a hotel. Pool area looked very nice, but the weather was too cool to use it when we were there. They have a very fashionable honor bar in a separate building. Nice place to relax and have a drink. The staff is friendly, helpful and professional.

A lovely place for everyone and especially for romantic couples, a historic building in an area full of nature! You can see that the owner of the place pays attention to the small details: soft and pleasant bedding, a large and clean bathroom, a high and comfortable bed, the breakfast is stunning and I have not seen one in Europe. For those looking for a special and quiet experience, this is the place!

While this boutique hotel may be located off the beaten track down a strange semi-industrial road, once you get into the confines of this truly beautiful bishop’s palace, it is all about tranquility. We stayed in the penthouse (reasonably priced) which had it’s own lounge, galley kitchen and spa-style bathroom. Both the hosts were very helpful and accommodating, to the point of rescuing my toiletries and keeping them safe till I could come back for them! Breakfast was mostly a continental affair, but they also serve a very crispy bacon and silky scrambled egg if you so wished. Whiled away our last couple of hours before a sensible midday check out by the pool, towels provided. In summary: a beautiful setting and great customer experience.
