I wish I could give this hotel an excellent review. The location is a perfect base to explore the historical neighbors. Staff is very friendly. Our room on the 3rd floor was spacious with a lot of natural light. The view from the upper deck was spectacular. But.... there was almost no hot water in our room. We spoke with the staff and were told that the boiler is very far away. |Unless this issue is fixed, I would only consider staying at the lower floor.

What a lovely place, clean, great staff, nice rooms (not the largest), good location in historic area. There is a rooftop bar and seating area that makes it work while on its own, good at night to see the harbour and city lights and sunset. The only negative was the basic breakfast.

The staff are nice and the location is not bad, but the place is terrible. My room was down the street, out of the hotel. The access was through an iron barred door, it all felt unsafe and isolated. Sleeping at night was impossible because of the night club next door, where they played music, shouted and were terribly noisy till the wee hours. When I asked for a room change they said the only possible solution was that one of my trip companions shared their room with me. We were a group of 4 friends, the others had to get showered in my room because there was no water in theirs. The staff explained that they were having issues with the water pump, then many other guests told us they were in the same situation... no chance of getting showered. Also, their concept of room cleanliness is particular and the towels are old.

Our wonderful stay at Casa Galos stands out for several reasons. First is the fantastic location near the top of Cerro Alegre, offering a stunning view of Valparaíso from the rooftop terrace. The ambiance of our room was stylish, well appointed, and thoughtfully laid out, with tall ceilings and plenty of natural light. Breakfast was a delight, with all the choices you could ask for to start your day exploring this memorable neighborhood. Finally, the staff were friendly and helpful — especially Florencia, who went above and beyond to help newcomers make the most of their visit. Casa Galos is easy to recommend to other travelers visiting Valparaíso.

The location was perfect, the hotel itself delightfully arty and charming, with a rooftop view that was incredible. The rooms had a mini kitchen with well stocked beverages. What I greatly appreciated was the friendly and helpful team at reception. She plotted a route within the city map that would optimise seeing the best of the amazing and funky street art, cafes, churches, museums etc. I would have missed out on much without that. Restaurants were recommended and I was even personally escorted to one so as to not get lost. Some rooms have a bit better view than others and I was kindly re-accommodated to one of those. Breakfast was included and eggs made to order. I loved everything about my stay here. If ever in Valparaiso again this is where I will stay and recommend it to others.

Charming spot in a great location to explore the town. Interesting decor and architecture of the hotel was charming and simple. Nice breakfast each morning plus a staff one every shift was superb. Valparaiso as a city takes a minute to understand “what it is” and once you do, you can really appreciate the charm. It’s cool, gritty, artsy, funky and uniquely charming all in one.

We arrived from a long flight via a redeye from the United States early on the day of our 3 PM check in. We were welcomed warmly by Florencia our host with a smile and checked in immediately. She promptly offered us breakfast and coffee within minutes of entering the hotel. |When I mention checked in immediately, we were escorted to our reserved room upon arrival hours before our scheduled 3 PM check in guarantee. |The boutique hotel was perfect for our overnight stay before boarding our Viking cruise ship. It is within walking distance to restaurants , art galleries and other small boutiques. Valencia provided detailed guidance for a one day exploration to optimize our brief stay in Valparaiso. Her restaurant suggestion was spot on also and unique to Chilean cuisine. |I Highly recommend this hotel for exemplary cleanliness, friendly service by all staff members, overall experience and value.
