My husband and I spent 3 nights at Hotel Acontraluz on our honeymoon, and it was exactly what we were hoping for. Its in a great location to walk around some of the most charming parts of Valparaiso. The room was beautiful and comfortable with a stunning view of the ocean (photos attached). The service was excellent from the moment we walked through the door and Pablo greeted us and helped us with our bags, to the moment we left. The included breakfast was also excellent! If youre thinking of going to Valparaiso, don’t skip out on spending a couple of nights in this gorgeous renovated mansion.

Imagine strolling into Valparaíso, and tucked into the hills is Boutique Hotel Acontraluz. Now, at first, you might miss it (as I did!) But the welcome is warm and personal, with staff keen to help you make the most of this colorful town. And the terrace? You’ll be gazing out at the Pacific with a view you’ll always remember. The rooms are simple but sparkling clean. Now, be prepared for local charm: the neighborhood dogs may sing at night, though they do quiet down by bedtime. There’s no air conditioning, so summer’s warm. But you’re right in the heart of Valparaíso’s lively hills—restaurants and shops are steps away. The staff went the extra mile, arranging a smooth ride to the port. The Wi-Fi worked great. Breakfast was thoughtfully prepared—just know you’ll have coffee, tea or water for drinks, no juice. For a short stay, it’s a charming home base—just pack some earplugs unless you’re missing your dogs back home. The view and atmosphere are pure Valparaíso!

Great place. It only has 3 stars, which is understandable as it is an old house, but I would think of it as a 5 star B&B in UK or US. Breakfast was the best possible, fixed à la minute for you. Staff extremely kind and you get coffee, tea, cold water and can use the fridge and social areas. Area is very cute, lots of top restaurants and small boutiques just outside the door. The best at last: the balcony at top floor has a spectacular view of the bay and Valparaiso, one of the best I have ever encountered. I spent hours up there every night, watching the moon come up behind a hill ❤️

We are staying for 2 nights . The staff are very friendly and knowledgeable of the area . The building is amazing restoration, blending historical with new in a tasteful way . Recommend the top floor sea side room with balcony . Amazing at night time . My wife and I love this place .

I liked this yesteryear hotel. Service was great and the room was large with cavernous ceilings. The highlight was the view over the old town and Viña del Mar. The hotel is an old residence without some of the amenities and convenience of a modern build - be prepared to carry your luggage upstairs! This older feel is sympathetic to the area and quiet atmospheric. Breakfast is served on an outside terrace from 8.30am. The hotel is surrounded by quality restaurants. All of Valparaiso’s highlights are within walking distance. Remember though, it’s a hilly town.

I spent 3 lovely nights at this hotel and would happily stay again. The hotel is a large renovated house in a great location in Cerro Alegre. My room was large and charming - the antique bed was sturdy and comfortable, the sheets were super soft, and the terrace with a view out to the water was nice. The bathroom had a claw foot tub with a modern shower head, good towels, and everything I needed. Everything was clean and quiet with good air quality. The staff were welcoming and helpful and I felt safe in and around the hotel. Breakfast was great and I appreciated the large water cooler available 24/7. All of this added up to make me feel at home and have a very relaxing stay at the end of a very active trip through multiple cities.

We originally booked at a different hotel but when we arrived in Valparaiso, there was a mix up in the booking and there was no room for us. They recommended Acobtraluz boutique hotel and they graciously took us in last minute thankfully, otherwise we would have been stuck in the streets with no where to stay! I love the old charm of the building and our room had a gorgeous view of Valpo. We enjoyed peaceful complimentary breakfast, some days on our balcony and sometimes on their beautiful terrace. It felt like we staying a place back in time. The service was top notch. We were always cared for and attended to. It felt very personable. Perfect for the couple that wants a relaxing, romantic, peaceful stay or the lone backpacker that wants to be central to Cerro Alegre and experience the old charm of the city.
