The best time to visit Vienna is from May to September, when temperatures are mild to warm, ranging from 20°C to 28°C, and rainfall is moderate. June through August are the warmest months, ideal for outdoor cafés and parks, though July and August can feel hot. May and September are pleasant with fewer crowds. The rainiest stretch is May, with 13 rain days, while October and November are cooler and wetter. Winter months are cold and damp, but the Christmas markets are a famous draw.

For a quieter, residential base, consider Josefstadt or Neubau, close to the MuseumsQuartier and many cafes. Hotels like Hotel Sacher Wien and The Leo Grand are in Innere Stadt, while SO/ Vienna is in Leopoldstadt.
