The service here is extremely disappointing. The staff are unfriendly, impolite, and show no sense of hospitality. The reception and the rooms are even located in different buildings, which is very inconvenient. Most importantly, there is no air conditioner! NO AIR CONDITIONER! The only good thing is the location.

The staff here are wonderfully helpful. We arrived off a night train at 7.40am. We were made welcome and directed to have coffee. We were allowed into our room immediately to clean up and change. Nothing is too much trouble, the rooms are spacious and clean. The breakfast is superb and the location is hard to beat.

Perfectly located in Vienna, near metro and tram lines and important marks like Parliament, Volktheater and Rathaus (about 10min of walk) Rooms were very spacious and comfortable. Shower was a bit small but good. Breakfast is pretty good and copious. Staff is very welcoming Note that you might have to pay a single amount for city tax in cash. For us, it was 28.8€.

Fantastic location right by Volkstheater U-Bahn and a tram station. Not a fancy hotel, but charming old building and lovely staff. The breakfast is good value. My one request would be to put glasses in the rooms (for water. Or wine ;-)

LOCATION. If you are here to tour Vienna Altstadt, this is a very covienent location. Minutes to most anything by walking in the museum quarter and right on the Underground line. I would stay here again simply for the location. Hotel has a small lift. You check in on Floor 1, rooms on Floors 1 or 3. Rooms dont have AC, but ours slept 3, was large with a couch and tv, and had a private bathroom/shower. Room cleaning daily, new towels, trash removed which was nice.

Perfect location at the heart of the Museum Quartier. Most of the attraction are within walking distance. We had a small issue but the stuff immediately solved it offering us a great service. I suggest also to have breakfast there!

We booked the room at the last minute and were very satisfied considering the price. The room was clean and spacious. There was a fan working in the bathroom, which prevented it from getting stuffy. We had an amazing balcony — we didn’t know about it when booking. Breakfast was included and it was incredibly rich and delicious. It was an open buffet, and we could take as much as we wanted. Our room was in a different building than the main one, but that wasn’t a problem at all — it was just on a back street. In the corridor of our building, there was a coffee machine available at all times, and it made really tasty coffee. I was very satisfied and highly recommend it to everyone. There is absolutely nothing I can complain about.

Frequently asked questions about Vienna

When is the best time to visit Vienna?

The best time to visit Vienna is from May to September, when temperatures are mild to warm, ranging from 20°C to 28°C, and rainfall is moderate. June through August are the warmest months, ideal for outdoor cafés and parks, though July and August can feel hot. May and September are pleasant with fewer crowds. The rainiest stretch is May, with 13 rain days, while October and November are cooler and wetter. Winter months are cold and damp, but the Christmas markets are a famous draw.

Which area should I stay in in Vienna?

Stay in Innere Stadt, the historic center, for easy access to St. Stephen's Cathedral, Hofburg, and the State Opera. It suits first-time visitors and those wanting to walk everywhere. Leopoldstadt, across the Danube Canal, offers a more local feel near the Prater and is good for families. For a quieter, residential base, consider Josefstadt or Neubau, close to the MuseumsQuartier and many cafes. Hotels like Hotel Sacher Wien and The Leo Grand are in Innere Stadt, while SO/ Vienna is in Leopoldstadt.

What are the must-see attractions in Vienna?

Schönbrunn Palace is the imperial summer residence with vast gardens. St. Stephen's Cathedral is the Gothic heart of the old town. Belvedere Palace houses Klimt's The Kiss. The Hofburg is the former imperial palace complex. The Kunsthistorisches Museum holds major art collections.

What day trips can I take from Vienna?

Full-day tours from Vienna go to Hallstatt, a lakeside village in the Alps; Salzburg, Mozart's birthplace with a historic old town; Bratislava, Slovakia's capital; Budapest, Hungary's capital on the Danube; and Prague, the Czech capital. Each is a distinct city or scenic area, and tours typically combine sightseeing with travel. If you prefer a shorter trip, consider a day in the Wachau Valley or the Vienna Woods, both well-known nearby destinations.

How many days do I need in Vienna?

Plan 3 to 4 days in Vienna. In 3 days, you can see Schönbrunn Palace, St. Stephen's Cathedral, the Hofburg, and the Belvedere Palace, plus enjoy the Prater and the Vienna State Opera. Add a fourth day to visit the Kunsthistorisches Museum and the MuseumsQuartier. If you want to take a day trip to Hallstatt, Bratislava, or Budapest, plan an extra day.
