Our stay at Tellamande Lodge Arusha was nothing short of exceptional. I stayed here with my sister, and from the moment we arrived at 2:00am—after a long, rainy journey from Nairobi—we felt truly welcomed. The gentleman at the gate was awake and received us warmly with such kindness, which immediately set the tone for our stay. At reception, we met Huba, a lovely, ever-smiling lady who already had our reservation perfectly in order. Being in the same industry myself, I genuinely felt at home. As someone on the front line of customer service, I was truly impressed by the professionalism, warmth, and efficiency displayed. We also had the pleasure of meeting the manager—what a professional! We mentioned we wanted to try tumbukiza, and without hesitation, he coordinated swiftly with the chef. Within minutes, our meal was ready. Compliments to the chef—hongera sana! The food was delicious, beautifully presented, and absolutely mouth-watering. A big thank you as well to the restaurant team (even though I didn’t catch your names). Your service was outstanding. No matter how many times I called, you always responded with genuine smiles and such positive energy—it did not go unnoticed. To the entire team at Tellamande Lodge Arusha, thank you for making our stay so memorable. I will definitely be recommending you to all my friends in Nairobi—this will always be a must-stop for them. Keep up the amazing work!

The lodge was truly wonderful, and their services were excellent from start to finish. The staff were always friendly, attentive, and ready to help with anything we needed. If we had any concerns or requests, they listened right away and made sure everything was taken care of quickly. We absolutely loved our time there and would happily return again. Highly recommended!

The staff was wonderful, and the breakfast was also good. I stayed here two different nights, almost two weeks apart. First time I stayed the room was adequate, the second night I stayed our toilet didn't work and there was a leaky pipe.

Response from the property

Thank you for reviewing us we shall rectify the leaking pipe Welcome again

Spent a rough night with them. Got about 3 minutes of hot water out of a much needed shower and could have sat on the toilet for the shower. Dogs barking, street noise, and everything echoing through the hotel made for poor sleep quality. Offers breakfast but not well stocked. Nice facility from an optics standpoint and staff was friendly.

The rooms (tried two of them, one more like an apartment with shared kitchen and livingroom) are clean, comfortable and suitable for several nights. One room lacked closet but for two nights it was ok. The staff is very helpful and positive. Breakfast hours basically for how long you like and they will give you what you ask for. Dinner was a bit slow but very well cooked and the waitor/s very friendly, helpful and entertaining

We stayed 2 nights at the Lodge Tellemande in arusha on our way in and out of Tanzania. The first time was rough. We could not have hot showers, as their plumbing was ancient. Both the tap and shower would run together affecting the pressure, and hot water would finish in 3-4 minutes. Despite complaints, they did nothing about it and we faced the same problems on our return. There seems to be no quality control or training of the staff. One room lacked soap, the other was missing toilet paper, the third was missing towels. There were no glasses to drink water from, the simple basics were not in place. There was no manager to speak to and attempts to speak with the owner failed as he was out drinking with buddies. Abysmally mismanaged hotel!! I asked for a flask of hot water and was charged a dollar for barely a cupful!! The only plus, was they looked after our extra suit cases for 3 days. But this hotel is blacklisted from our protective
