some idiot immediately outside our window on the street was hammering and using an electric saw until at least 10:30 pm. Another idiot, walks along the street immediately outside your window banging a drum in the middle of the night. Then he comes back about thirty minutes later to do some more. If you bring your headlamps you'll be able to see in the very dark room. You won't have to tip housekeeping because no one ever comes by to service your room. Common areas like the restaurant are unheated. So when its 48 degrees outside it will be about 50 degrees inside. The restaurant has a great toaster and provides butter and jelly for toast. But both mornings no one working there had thought to purchase any bread. The TV is broken. No safe. No pure drinking water provided. what is supposed to be a double bed is actually two single beds pushed up against each other. Wifi is too slow to stream a movie. Location is good in that it is very close to the main square, but on the other hand it is so noisy with the drum banging and the construction at night. Excellent hot water and excellent refrigerator. Friendly staff. Good eggs and orange juice at breakfast.

Location is great. General atmosphere in the hotel is nice and the breakfast was good. The room we had was rather small, especially the bathroom. Recommend.

Room decor charming but furniture worn - needs a little updating. Beds comfortable and breakfast decent. Located close to the central square of the old city hence close proximity to shopping & restaurants. Staff polite and friendly. A very pleasant accommodation.

Very clean, friendly, reasonably comfortable and appointed hotel for a 3-star classification. Room and bathroom good sized. Although a little dark and beds very firm. Breakfast was least favorite thing here - eggs and coffee not good, but had yogurt and granola.

We were truly shocked when our tour guide was asked to pay 200 MAD simply to help us get our luggage out. Such behavior from the hotel staff is completely unacceptable and reflects very poorly on the level of service and respect shown to guests. We expected professionalism and basic human decency, not an attempt to take advantage of us in that situation. This incident left us deeply disappointed and extremely uncomfortable.

Beautiful and truly magical place to stay. The reception staff were very nice and helpful, and the breakfast was tasty and simple. The hotel has an amazing terrace. The beds were fine, but the only downside was the bathroom — the shower was very small, the shower head was broken, and there was an unpleasant smell in the room.

Love at first sight. This place is one of the cutest places we stayed during our 2 weeks in Morocco. It was the epitome of everything you could ask for on a Moroccan vacation. The staff were incredible and made us feel so welcome, even suggesting places to eat the nights we stayed. The rooms are ornate and very clean. I loved all of the windows and the unique shape of the circle bathroom. The upstairs terrace has an incredible view overlooking the city and was the perfect place to sit with a cup of coffee in the morning and hear the call to prayer and bustle of city life. It is also centrally located about a 4 minute walk from the square and kasbah. Lots of shops and cats long the way. If I ever have the chance to return I will definitely be staying here again.

Where can I eat near Hotel Dar Mounir?

You can eat at the hotel's own Restaurant Mounir, which serves Moroccan cuisine, and at its cafe. For other options, Restaurant Beldi Bab Ssour is about 150 meters away, and Al-Kasbah Restaurant is 140 meters away. Chez Aziz is 170 meters from the hotel, and Restaurant Bab Kasaba is 180 meters away. Veranda Cafe & Restaurant & Spa is also nearby at 140 meters, and Cafe Glacier RAHMOUNI is 250 meters away.

What is the area around Hotel Dar Mounir like?

You are right in the heart of Chefchaouen's blue-washed medina, on the Souika lane. Plaza Uta el Hamman and Place El Haouta are each a 1-minute walk away, and the Chefchaouen Medina is 2 minutes on foot. It is a walkable, atmospheric quarter where you can easily explore the blue streets and local life.

How do I get to Hotel Dar Mounir from the airport or main train station?

The nearest airport is Tétouan Sania Ramel, about 69 km away. The hotel can arrange an airport transfer, which you should book ahead. From the Chefchaouen bus station, a taxi ride takes just a couple of minutes to the medina, and the hotel is a short walk from there. The hotel also offers a shuttle from the bus station. If you arrive by shared taxi, you will be dropped at the station next to the CTM bus stop, then take a taxi uphill to the medina.

What's there to do near Hotel Dar Mounir in the evening?

In the evening, the heart of Chefchaouen is right at your doorstep. Plaza Uta el Hamman and Place El Haouta are each a 1-minute walk away, where you can enjoy the atmosphere of the medina. The hotel's own Cafe and Restaurant offer a convenient spot for a meal or a drink. For a different pace, consider a private photo tour with a local pro photographer to capture the blue streets after dark. The Chefchaouen Medina, a 2-minute walk, is a lovely place for an evening stroll. The Akchour waterfalls are farther out, so those are better saved for a daytime excursion.

Is Hotel Dar Mounir a good base for exploring Chefchaouen?

Yes, Hotel Dar Mounir is an excellent base for exploring Chefchaouen. You are just a 1-minute walk from Plaza Uta el Hamman and Place El Haouta, and the Chefchaouen Medina is only 2 minutes away on foot. The Kasbah and Grande Mosquée are also within a short stroll.
