My stay at the Galle Face Hotel in Colombo was truly memorable. From the moment I walked in, I felt surrounded by history and elegance. The colonial charm, ocean views, and timeless architecture created a unique atmosphere that few hotels can match. My room was comfortable, beautifully furnished, and opened to the sea breeze—perfect for relaxing after exploring the city. The service was warm and attentive without being intrusive, and breakfast on the terrace overlooking the Indian Ocean was unforgettable. Watching the sunset by the pool with a drink in hand was the perfect end to each day. A classic, graceful stay.

Wonderful experience staying at the Galle Face Hotel. Incredible location, Incredible accomodation, Incredible facilities and Incredible staff very welcoming, polite and courteous. A big thank you to the reception desk for upgrading our room to balcony and ocean view. Special thanks to our housekeeping team especially Fernando who was always very obliging and courteous and who made our stay very comfortable. Such service crew must be applauded for their hospitable nature. Overall we loved staying at this beautiful hotel.

We had such a wonderful time at Galle Face Hotel for the Sunday Brunch party, and it turned out to be one of those days filled with great food, laughter, friendship, and beautiful memories. ❤️ The outside terrace was definitely one of our favourite spots. With the refreshing sea breeze, beautiful atmosphere, and the sound of the ocean, it was such a relaxing place to unwind. Honestly, it’s an ideal spot to enjoy an evening beer, a few snacks, and simply spend quality time with friends while enjoying the view. 🌊🍻 We also had the opportunity to celebrate our friend’s birthday, which made the day even more special. 🎂🥂 A very special thank you to Mr. Rifshaz for, as always, making us feel so welcome. Your warm hospitality, genuine support, and attention to detail really made a difference and helped make our celebration even more enjoyable. 🙏❤️ Our appreciation also goes to the wonderful Guest Relations, Danilia and Maleesa, who warmly ushered us to the room and supported us throughout the celebration. Your friendly smiles, helpfulness, and positive energy added such a lovely touch to our experience. 🌸 It’s always the people who turn a good visit into a memorable one, and this team certainly did that for us. This hotel is such a gem! The saltwater pool is the oldest one in Chennai and is very deep - perfect for doing laps! There are lovely beach chairs facing the ocean that are wonderful for viewing the sunset. The rooms are gorgeous - make sure you get an ocean view with a balcony, since the splurge is more than worth it! All of the staff are very kind and accommodating, and the place is gorgeously decorated. We especially loved looking out our room window and watching the waves. There was a music event during our stay, which meant that there were loud bass noises until about 2 AM. This made it a bit harder to enjoy the sea sounds and to sleep, which was unfortunate since we had an early tour the next day. We handled it fine with some noise canceling headphones, though. Also important to note that the staff went out of their way to accommodate us by upgrading our rooms, offering other available rooms, and apologizing multiple times for the inconvenience. They also comped a few of our room service charges, which was appreciated. My only suggestion is for the hotel to give guests more advanced notice if this happens again in the future! Regardless, I would absolutely stay here again in the future and would highly recommend it to others.

We booked the Galle Face Hotel as a base to explore Colombo for a couple of days prior to our departure. We liked the information that we had but were so much more impressed with the reality of our stay. The building itself was impressive inside in terms of decor and facilities offered. We had a top floor sea view room which was perfect. Whilst not huge it had everything we needed and more offering comfort in a traditional but tasteful style. The staff were polite and so helpful and the service exceptional. We included an evening meal in our booking. The buffet style offering in a delightful sea facing restaurant was very good. We stayed at the end of May this year. Fantastic value for money. The definition of ‘old school’ hospitality. We would definitely stay again. Great location and easy distance from the airport.

had the privilege of experiencing an authentic high tea at one of Sri Lanka's most iconic heritage hotels, the Galle Face Hotel. It was a truly lovely evening, made even more memorable by the excellent selection of food and the warm hospitality extended by the staff. I would especially like to recognize Crishma, Patric, Imran, Bandu from the restaurant and Ivony, Devatha and Mellisa were very welcoming from the front office area. whose friendliness and attentiveness made our short visit even more enjoyable. Another unforgettable highlight of the evening was witnessing the ceremonial event of lowering the Sri Lankan flag with bag pipers at the sunset. We thoroughly enjoyed every moment and will certainly be visiting again. Keep up the excellent work!
