The best time is from October to March, when days are warm (20-32°C) and nights cool, with little rain. February and November are especially pleasant, with low humidity and clear skies. The full-day tours from Jaipur go to Ranthambore, a national park known for tiger sightings and old ruins. If you stay in the city, Ajmer with the Ajmer Sharif Dargah and Pushkar with its holy lake and Brahma temple are well-known trips. Both are about a day's journey each way.

Plan 3 to 4 days in Jaipur. Two full days cover the main sights: Amber Palace, Hawa Mahal, City Palace, and Nahargarh Fort. A third day lets you add Albert Hall Museum and Jaigarh Fort at a relaxed pace. If you take a day trip like Ranthambore, budget an extra day on top of that.
