B&B Locanda Mediterranea

The best time to visit Naples is May, June, or September, when temperatures are warm but not too hot and rain is less frequent. July and August are the hottest months, with highs around 31°C, while November is the rainiest, with 16 rain days. Spring and early autumn offer the most pleasant conditions for exploring the city.

Stay in the Historical Center for first-time visitors, close to Sansevero Chapel and the Royal Palace, with easy access to the city's core. The Lungomare Caracciolo waterfront suits those wanting sea views and a relaxed feel, near Castel dell'Ovo and hotels like Grand Hotel Vesuvio. The Plebiscito area is central and elegant, with Grand Hotel Oriente nearby. For a quieter, hillside stay, Vittorio Emanuele offers a more residential setting with Grand Hotel Parker's.

Start with the Sansevero Chapel Museum for its remarkable marble sculptures. Castel dell'Ovo offers sea views and a look at the city's oldest castle. The Catacombs of San Gennaro are ancient underground burial chambers with striking frescoes. The Royal Palace of Naples showcases royal apartments and a grand facade. Naples Underground reveals Greek and Roman ruins beneath the city.

You can take full-day tours to Capri, including the Blue Grotto and Anacapri, and to Pompeii with Mount Vesuvius. The Amalfi Coast tours cover Positano, Amalfi, Sorrento, and Ravello. These are all classic day trips from Naples.

Plan 3 days for Naples itself. Use one day for the historic center, including Sansevero Chapel Museum and Naples Underground. Another day covers the Royal Palace, Castel dell'Ovo, and the Lungomare. A third day allows for the Catacombs of San Gennaro and Galleria Borbonica. Add an extra day if you want a day trip to Pompeii, Capri, or the Amalfi Coast.
