The Hoxton Vienna

Unfortunately, a very disappointing stay, mainly due to the lack of service and professionalism of the staff. Both check-in and check-out were unnecessarily complicated, with reception staff coming across as unfriendly and not particularly service-oriented. The experience at the rooftop bar was similarly disappointing, with staff appearing overwhelmed. Some of the outdoor furniture on the rooftop terrace was also badly torn and in need of replacement. The room had several issues: an uncomfortably soft mattress, noisy air conditioning and a dirty pillow. We also noticed that the shower gel and soap dispensers appeared to have been diluted or tampered with, which raised serious hygiene concerns. Unfortunately, reporting this to reception did not lead to any meaningful response or follow-up. Breakfast was another weak point, as items ordered from the menu appeared to have been prepared in advance and were served cold. Overall, the experience fell well below expectations for a hotel in this price category. The value for money simply isn't there. Vienna has many excellent hotels, and I would recommend considering other options where service, cleanliness and attention to detail better match the price.

We had a wonderful stay at the Huxton Hotel in Vienna. The hotel’s design is stunning, and both the lobby and the rooms perfectly match its stylish, modern theme. The service was warm and welcoming throughout our stay, with the restaurant staff being especially friendly. A special thanks to Luca and Maksym, who made our dining experience even more enjoyable with their excellent service. Vienna itself is an incredible city, full of history, culture, and beautiful architecture. We loved experiencing everything it has to offer, and there’s still so much more to explore. We’ll definitely be back to discover more of this amazing city, and when we do, we’ll be booking the Huxton Hotel again without hesitation.

Absolutely fantastic stay. Very classy hotel with a divine smell! Location was perfect. Felt very safe for a solo traveler. Room was compact but very comfortable bed and lovely bathroom. Pool wasn't open for my stay which was a shame. Didn't have breakfast at the hotel as there's plenty of local options available closer by.

The location and the overall aesthetic they’re going for is great but the experience didn’t live up to that. They are missing the subtle touches that other hotels we’ve stayed at in that price range and style aesthetic through Europe deliver. No welcome drink, no happy hour, no breakfast included - only at an additional cost and when we decided that we wanted to have breakfast at the hotel one morning to save some time, we were turned away by the restaurant saying that they couldn’t accommodate us - we’re guests at the hotel! They made us order from the lounge in the main foyer which is fine but even more disappointing and irritating was that the breakfast was cold and underwhelming - I’ve paid less for far more. Add to all of this that the entire time during our stay, it was a struggle to obtain more than a packet of coffee per day in the room. At that price point and tier, the Hoxton falls short.

We have really enjoyed our stay at The Hoxton. The beds and pillows are very comfortable and we were given a slightly upgraded bigger room which was very nice. We found the water pressure to be a little weak but not to the point you couldn’t shower. The rooftop pool has been great in the heat but it does get busy in the pool and with the sun beds. We enjoyed a few drinks at the rooftop bar which has a wonderful view at sunset so I would definitely recommend doing this during your trip.

The “standard” rooms are impressively… compact. The kind of space you’d normally expect from a €50/night hotels for a single room, not something marketed for two humans with luggage and personal boundaries. Speaking of boundaries, those are optional here. The toilet seat is about a meter from the head of the bed, separated by a glass door that does little for either acoustics or dignity. Best suited for couples who have truly seen it all. Perhaps that’s why there’s a radio receiver on the night stand as strategic sound masking. Breakfast is a test of timing and patience. Arrive early, or prepare to queue, hover, or enjoy it in the lobby like it’s a networking event. There is, however, a small heated rooftop pool and a bar, which is genuinely nice until you realize the setting feels like a crossover episode: you, dripping in swimwear, and nearby, fully dressed professionals having serious business discussions. Not quite sure what vibe they were going for, but it’s memorable.

Great choice for a summer trip! The best thing about the hotel is definitely the pool terrace which is perfect for surviving the European heat waves. The pool works all day and has amazing views on the downtown, especially during the sunset. The rooms are spacious and have a retro vibe. The layout is pretty strange because the bathroom with the shower is separated from the sink and mirror, which can be uncomfortable if you’re travelling with someone else. All necessary amenities are present. The AC works perfectly even without the key card. The hotel is located in a pleasant residential area, next to a park and a grocery store, with walkable distance to the centre.

Staff were wonderful. Rooms were small but comfortable. The pool was a delight. Only one criticism - Probably need a bit better signage as you get out of the left side elevator as the host is not visible from there. Also maybe think about opening up that large outdoor space as it was very busy on Friday and Saturday. But overall great hotel, would stay again.
