The ryokan is not near the town centre and you will have to take a bus or taxi to get there from the station. There is really not much around this hotel, but once you get there, the nice owners and the clean and big rooms make up for the efforts of getting there. we had two huge Japanese style rooms that were clean, comfortable and very spacious. The old couple that is running this little inn are both very friendly and would go the extra mile to make your stay enjoyable as well as give you information on things to do and see in the area. Would recommend this inn, if you would like to have an "at home" Japanese experience and if you don't mind the travel back and forth.

Best stay of our 2 week trip in Japan! Traditional Japanese room with a view of a small garden at the back, and with ensuite toilet. Great service from the staff, good food!

The Inn is located in a remote area called Utsukushi-ga-hara Onsen, a 20 minute ride on bus from Matsumoto City. The bus operates every 30 minutes. This is a small, family-run Inn. The Inn and room are old but clean. I am not sure if staff can speak English or not (my mother-tongue is Japanese). We had half-board on the first night and breakfast only on the second night, and all meals were traditional Japanese and served in our room. The hotel offers WiFi, and has spa for male and female (although the size of spa is not large). Because the area is very remote, there is almost no restaurant available. Thus, we had dinner in Matsumoto City. There is no convenience store in walking distance. If you want to experience a real traditional Japanese Inn, this is for you.

(Translated by Google) It was an old, established building. It lacked the elegance of a hotel, but it had the fun of a school trip. The WiFi was weak, and the amenities were standard. Because it's mostly wooden, rooms near the stairs creak and make noise. The room doors didn't seem very sturdy either. There's only one key per room, which might be inconvenient for multiple people. When I first entered the room, there was an old man-like smell. It disappeared after I turned on the air conditioning and ventilation. For women, there are only three showers and one hairdryer, so I recommend going to the front desk to borrow a hairdryer and using it in your room. The room is cool thanks to the air conditioning. There's only one sink in the bathroom. In short, the bathroom isn't very spacious. The water felt too hot. The changing room is extremely hot, like a sauna, probably because there's no ventilation fan. The provided shampoo is a 2-in-1 shampoo and conditioner, so if you're particular about your shampoo, you should bring your own! It creaks. You can drink lemon water freely before your bath. The water was lukewarm, but I think it was just right. The landlady was very polite and friendly. There might not be a hair iron available.

(Translated by Google) This is a family-run Japanese inn from the Showa era. When I used my car's navigation system to get here from the Venus Line, it directed me to the shortest route, the Azalea Line, but it's very steep, so I recommend taking a longer route. The tree frog in the photo was encountered in the open-air bath's courtyard. Hot Springs The water is colorless, transparent, and has a gentle, mild quality. There are indoor and outdoor baths. The outdoor bath is a spacious, oval-shaped Western-style bathtub made of Shigaraki ware, large enough for one person. There are no restrictions on bathing time. Meals Both breakfast and dinner are served in your room. Dinner is served in multiple sittings. In my experience, the last seating time for dinner was 6:30 PM. Parking Free parking is available in front of the entrance and across the road.

(Translated by Google) I stayed at this inn while touring Nagano's national hot spring resorts. I followed the navigation system's directions through a residential area to find this inn, and the room was clean. They prepared a room for me near the large public bath, and I used it whenever I had free time, but perhaps because it's less occupancy on weekdays, I didn't meet any other guests and was able to relax. Meals were served in my room, and depending on the menu, there was a heavy smell, but they put a lot of effort into their cooking, so it was very delicious. This is one inn I'd like to stay at again. (Translated by Google) The building is old, but the bathrooms, toilets, and other areas are very clean and well-maintained, making it comfortable. The meals are also carefully prepared and satisfying. The accommodation fee is cheap, a real bargain. It's perfect for a group getaway with close friends.
