Lovely small hotel with attention to detail in Sintra. Only stayed one night but found the staff friendly and the facilities of high quality. A small fridge would have been handy but I notice these are not common in Portugal. Close to transport, attractions, restaurants and shopping, this hotel would be a good choice for anyone visiting the area.

Very poor experience and unacceptable management! We arrived at the accommodation at 5:15 pm, within the official check-in time. We were informed that the keys would be left in a lockbox with an access code, but when we opened it, there were no keys inside. We tried to contact the property several times by phone and messages, without receiving any response. We were left outside in the cold for over an hour, without assistance, and were only able to enter the room at around 6:30 pm. Due to this delay, we missed a prepaid, time-restricted visit to Pena Palace, which cannot be rescheduled, meaning we completely lost the opportunity to visit one of the main reasons for our trip to Sintra. The property acknowledges the access issue but refuses to offer any form of compensation and considers the matter closed, which shows a total lack of responsibility towards guests. Additionally, the actual condition of the accommodation does not match what is advertised: visible water damage on the wooden floors, clear signs of wear in the bathroom, and an overall lack of maintenance. A very disappointing experience. I would not recommend this place, especially if you value a smooth check-in and basic customer care

This place has an amazing location. Other than that could use some upgrades. It's fairly noisy with neighbors barking dog and you can hear other guests. There is no where very nice to sit and rest.

Establishment to flee !! Complete rip-off! We had booked for July 21 until July 24 directly with them for 6 people and 1 dog. The very day of our arrival, 5 minutes before reaching the hotel by car, they announced that they had no room for us !!!! We had received a confirmation email! They then try to pass themselves off as nice people by telling you that they are: “absolutely sorry, that it's not their fault but because of a person working for them who takes care of reservations with whom they had a dispute and who they fired”. I therefore invite you to consult the other comments on this establishment which speak of more or less the same experience but 1 or even 2 years ago! I don't think it takes that long to fire someone who doesn't register reservations, especially since we received the confirmation email and when we arrived in Sintra and called them the lady we spoke to on the phone told us that they had found our reservations in their files with our names and the date of the reservations. In spite of everything, you can see that there are positive comments because, in my opinion, they accept more reservations than they should and then send back those for whom they don't have a room, sometimes leaving them with nothing and sometimes sending them to other hotels that are complicit in their scams and will charge you full price because you booked rooms for them at the last minute, as in the case of the NH hotel, which is also in Sintra! Hotel Caso do Vinho pretend to be people of good faith by offering you alternative accommodation (which was the case for us, but not for everyone), but at exorbitant prices! We paid 300€ more than we should have originally. What's more, as you can see from other comments, when you ask for compensation or a refund they obviously tell you that they'll take care of it and that they're sincerely sorry, but then you get nothing! It's all just talk! So I'm not questioning the good comments, even if some of them may be wrong, some people have had a good experience there, but I wouldn't advise you to try, it's double or nothing!

The guesthouse has a great location in Sintra, and it's very easy to access monuments from there. However, we encountered several inconveniences during our 3 days stay that piled up and ternished the experience of Sintra for us. The bedroom is large but lacks critical elements such as a bin, coat hangers or hooks, towel hangers and a surface in the bathroom to put clothing and personal belongings. We could not hang the towels or coats after the rain, and by day 2 all the towels were soaked wet. There is no kettle anywhere in the room or lobby to heat water. There wasn't any hot water in the shower two mornings out of 3, because the water heater is shared between all bedrooms, which is absolutely insane to me in a hotel ; the bathroom gives off an odor of sewage at times during the day which means the door must be kept closed to avoid poisoning the room. The customer service is mediocre, we requested a QR code to access the street with a driver but never got a reply ; there is nobody at the reception after 5 ; when we mentionned the problems encountered, no solution was offered, no apologies either, the lady dismissed it as if it was normal. During our 3 days stay, no cleaning of the room was done, which is problematic because the wet towels weren't changed, the toilet paper not refilled and the bathroom bin not replaced. The room and the beds are correct but no decoration effort is made, and it is reduced to the strict minimum. For the price of this hotel, it is not worth it. Unfortunately we tried being positive at first but this is simply unprofessional. If you could also give a word to your neighbor to stop locking their dog outside in the cold for hours, it would be appreciated.

My room has no WIFI per the directions printed. I settled in and went for dinner, coming back found the entry door was locked up while I was making sure my key works before going out. The phone provided do answer which is good. Room is spacious and furnished well. For me to get into the reception room was a work due to a steep slope - as I slipped & fell once, a few more times slipping. Hopefully it’s a nice day when you check out.

Very nice hotel 5 min. walk from National palace and bus stops to historical places. Clean and comfortable rooms, very helpful staff, great breakfast selection. Dulce at the front desk makes this place special.
