⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A truly unique dining experience in Colombo! Set in the former residence of Sri Lanka’s first female Prime Minister, Sirimavo Bandaranaike, this historic property has been beautifully transformed into an exclusive boutique hotel and restaurant while retaining much of its old-world charm and character. The food is excellent, but the black pork curry is an absolute standout—rich, flavourful, and one of the best I’ve tasted. The selection of desserts is also superb, making it very difficult to choose just one! A wonderful combination of history, elegance, atmosphere, and authentic Sri Lankan flavours. Definitely worth experiencing when in Colombo.

Highly recommend this beautiful boutique hotel in Colombo. Rooms are colonial and equipped for your every need and the restaurant outstanding. I was travelling alone for work and made to feel most welcome and cared for. Special compliments to the head of House keeping Mr Samen for the most excellent service and I very much hope to return one day

Everything about our stay was amazing. Food, staff hospitality, and welcoming atmosphere were top-notch! The only minor drawback was the interior art. While visually interesting, the designs were so overly complex that they seemed to lack any clear meaning or story. It would have been a much richer experience if the hotel provided a small description or context for the artwork. Otherwise, it was a great stay!

Wonderful hotel with a lot of history. Very colonnial so one dhould expect the suites to look like they need renovating which is a criticism I have seen in other reviews. It does not! The room was large, airy and had good lighting. Cleanliness all round the hotel was excellent.|The outside courtyard is a very pleasant area to sit in whether it is just to relax, have a drink or dine. The food was excellent. The staff, without exception, were very attentive and made time in their day to speak to their guests. I would have no hesitation in recommending this hotel.

Extremely well decorated, small, boutique hotel in a fancy area of Colombo. Rooms are big, well appointed and charming. The food in the restaurant is delicious. Probably, the best bisque I have ever had. Decent breakfast.

Attended an engagement function here. The venue felt a bit cramped for a large crowd, with limited space for guests to move around. The dining table seemed to accommodate around 20 guests as i think, and the public toilets were also quite small. the food was good. Overall, it’s a decent place for smaller functions, but the space may be a limitation for larger gatherings.

Wow!! This is our first time to Sri Lanka and we began our trip here at the Tintagel. We loved this hotel so much and cannot recommend it enough!!!! The staff were absolutely fantastic, so kind and friendly, always ready to lend a hand and make suggestions. They made our stay wonderful. The food was also incredible, we had lunch and breakfast here and both were 10/10. Beautiful pool and bar. Great place we will be back!!

We stayed 2 nights en route from Australia to London. Splitting the time difference helped ease us into holiday mode and make the jet lag very manageable. The Tintagel is a beautiful oasis of old world charm and luxury and located near some great local eateries if not dining in. Breakfast at See one morning was a lovely highlight and just 2 mins easy walk. Our other highlight was the remedial massage from Rohana- intensely bad in a good way - undoubtedly the best massage I have ever had!!! We will definitely stay again but give ourselves more time to get to Kandy by train.
