The best time to visit is from June to August, when rain is scarce and humidity drops, with mild days around 20-22°C. September and October are also pleasant, with warm, drier conditions before the wetter summer. Avoid January to March if you dislike frequent rain and high humidity, though December offers the warmest beach weather.

Surfers Paradise suits first-timers and nightlife lovers, with the beach, dining, and the backpacker hostel on Surfers Paradise Blvd. Broadbeach is a relaxed, upscale option near the Star Grand and BreakFree Diamond Beach, ideal for families and couples. Main Beach offers a quieter, beachfront stay, close to Sea World Resort and the marina. Mermaid Beach is a calm, residential choice, with Turtle Beach Resort a short walk from the sand.

Warner Bros. Movie World for its movie-themed rides and shows. Sea World for marine life and animal encounters. Dreamworld for a mix of thrill rides and family attractions. Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary for native Australian animals and feeding experiences.

The only bookable full-day tour from Gold Coast is to Dreamworld, a theme park with rides and attractions. For other day trips, well-known options include the rainforest hinterland of Springbrook and Lamington National Parks, and the coastal town of Byron Bay just south of the border. These are popular for their natural scenery and relaxed atmosphere.

Plan 4 to 5 days. Spend 2 days on the theme parks: Warner Bros. Movie World, Dreamworld, and Wet'n'Wild. Use one day for Sea World and the Broadwater Parklands, and another for Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary and SkyPoint Observation Deck. If you add a day trip, allow an extra day.
