Wakeup Copenhagen - Bernstorffsgade

The best time to visit is late spring to early autumn, especially May, June, and September, when temperatures are mild and rain is less frequent. July and August are warmest but also have more rain days, while winter months are cold, dark, and damp. For the most pleasant weather, aim for May or June, with September as a solid alternative.

For a central, lively stay, choose the Indre By area around Rådhuspladsen and Tivoli, with hotels like Citizenm Copenhagen Radhuspladsen and Hotel Alexandra. For a classic harbor experience, Nyhavn and the Amalienburg district suit you, with 71 Nyhavn Hotel and Hotel Sanders nearby. For a quieter, waterside option, the area around Kalvebod Brygge, where the Copenhagen Marriott Hotel is located, offers easy access to the city.

Tivoli Gardens is a historic amusement park with rides and gardens. The Little Mermaid is the iconic statue by the harbor. Amalienborg Palace is the royal residence with daily changing of the guard. The Round Tower offers a unique spiral ramp and city views. Rosenborg Castle houses the crown jewels in a Renaissance setting.

Full-day tours from Copenhagen go to Møns Klint, a dramatic chalk cliff on the Baltic coast, and the nearby Forest Tower, an elevated walkway in the treetops. Another tour crosses the Øresund Bridge to Malmö and Lund in Sweden, where you can see the medieval Lund Cathedral and Malmö's modern architecture. These trips give you a change of scenery from the city, with coastal nature or Swedish history.

Plan 3 days for Copenhagen: spend day 1 on Tivoli Gardens and Rådhuspladsen, day 2 at Amalienborg Palace and Rosenborg Castle, and day 3 at The Little Mermaid and The Round Tower. If you want to add a day trip to Møns Klint or Malmö, add an extra day.
