The staff here are wonderful and the service is incredibly thoughtful and attentive. The room was adorable with a unique, charming decor. I highly recommend staying here if you are visiting Sintra! Getting a taxi is easy, and there are restaurants nearby. The breakfast is a bit simple, but satisfying. There was a fire alarm that went off in the middle of the night, which woke everyone up, but thankfully, it was resolved quickly. It is a beautiful, quiet, and cozy boutique hotel. I would rate it at least four stars or higher .it’s such a warm and lovely place.

Lovely clean room with s view. The bed was so comfy. The staff, especially Katia, were helpful, efficient and happy. Breakfast was good. Loved every minute. I even got a birthday card. Will be back next year for my birthday again. Location was great. Bus stops, ATM, local bars and restaurants. Could not fault it.

Lovely hotel & very friendly staff!
Loved the design elements throughout & felt right at home.
Breakfast-/Dining-Room (downstairs) smelled like it was a little „wet“ to be honest - did not enjoy that too much.
Overall really enjoyed our stay!

The location of this hotel is good with plenty of restaurants within walking distance. We were not very happy that at the 2nd day of our stay there were only a few rolls left at breakfast. The girl in the kitchen is very friendly but she was the only one in the kitchen. The breakfast is being served till 10 am and we came at 9 am. For the 3 of us there were 4 mini rolls and one croissant. Of the fruits, one small slice of melon was left and that was all. We asked for more bread but there was no more. When we wanted to share this with a manager in the hotel, there was no one to be found. Another guest was also quite annoyed because someone promised to help her to book a taxi and she couldn´t find anyone either. We left the hotel by leaving the keys on the outside of the door of our rooms. Quite strange in my opinion....... Unfortunately our least favorite place to stay on our roadtrip through Portugal.

Not very friendly people communicating very limited and no reception. Stinky, musty smell in the room. Little space in the room and bathroom, very limited breakfast. Cleaning was limited just fresh towels but didn't clean anything else. Swimminpool I didn't dare to go in. I wouldn't recommend this Hotel.
The lady at the breakfast was very helpful and kind.

Everything was great, but the service ruined the experience.. 👎🏽
They say their breakfast starts at 7h30 (clearly shown in one of the photos), but when we got to the breakfast room at 8h, things weren't ready. The lady gave the excuse saying it's because we (and the rest of the other guests) booked their breakfasts for only 9h. We've never experienced this before, but we shrugged it off, as the lady was still accommodating and served us as promptly as she could.
Anyway, as we were staying another night, we thought it polite to message the hotel informing them that we'd want to have breakfast the next morning at 8h. Mind you, we did this as a favor to them, and to avoid repeating what happened that morning. You wouldn't expect to do this at other hotels, especially if they don't ask to do so. No reply.
The next morning? We head down to the breakfast room shortly before 8h... and there's nothing there, and nobody there. Lights off.
Frustrated and confused, we decide to just checkout without having breakfast. When leaving our room, an employee passes by us in a rush, whom we ask about breakfast. She says the employee in charge of breakfast couldn't come on time due to issues with public transport.. and that she'll take care of setting up breakfast to be ready in 15 minutes, telling us it's better for us to have a walk around the hotel or outside, rather than wait in the breakfast room. No apologies as well. Also, instead of "politely" kicking us out, the employee could have at least offered to serve us a coffee, beverage or light snack that doesn't require prep. In the end, we were in a rush, and just left without having the breakfast.
The hotel has to get it's SOPs in check. First, this is perhaps the only hotel that will strictly hold you to the breakfast time you mentioned at check-in. And then assume it's going to be the same for all the days of your stay. So a tip here is, when you're asked for a time, better to not give a time at all, or give an earlier time. I worked in hotels as well, and understand why they do this, but the basic rule is: breakfast must be guaranteed at the time the hotel stated breakfast time to start by. We pay hotels to relax and forget our problems for a while, not to have problems added or to try and convenience them, otherwise they should be paying us.
We got in touch with the hotel, and the support is appalling. No taking responsibility, only excuses and reflecting the blame onto us. Not even an offer of a refund for the breakfast they know we didn't have.
All they said was, "We can modify your breakfast time but we do not think at 21h22 is a normal time for let us know sorry". Firstly, we were actually doing the hotel a favour by informing them - most of the time, guests won't even inform. Secondly, are the employees already sleeping at 21h30? Thirdly, if anyone wants to do a great job in the hospitality industry, they should already be used to the fact that there is no "normal time".
Now, with the negative out of the way, to be fair, the hotel is pretty. The house is charming and has interesting decor that transports you to an earlier bygone time. It has plenty of personality and was ncie just to explore the common rooms, hallways, library and garden. The views from the room we stayed at were nice to wake up to (but there are some rooms that do not have such great views). The room was clean, smelt great (we found no mold issues, as pointed out by earlier guests from other reviews here), air-conditioning worked well, and water temperature and pressure were perfect.
There is parking right outside the hotel. But it does get full. In this case, there's also a large free parking area 2 minutes walk away.
The hotel is also situated amid a number of great restaurants, and depending on when you visit, we recommend reserving in advance.
Overall, the stay could have been much better, but we left disappointed due to the situation with the breakfast, and the subsequent subpar customer support and lack of resolution. A pity..

We were greeted at the gate and made to feel at home straight away. Tucked away in a quiet square a half hour walk from the station, we found Rose Garden House. Our room, was cosy, a chilled bottle of fizz waiting for us (pre ordered) tickets for Pena Palace also. A refreshingly strong shower, soft lighting and windows that shut out the howling wind that raged when we arrived.
We slept soundly and woke to a breakfast downstairs that set us up well for the day.
Clean, tidy, friendly, good facilities, soaps towels etc etc. It's a shame we didn't get to use the pool. I'd be very happy to come back and stay a while again.

This is the ideal place to stay if you want to be near the centre but out of the busy part. Situated in a quiet leafy square around the church. The room named "Fragment Plum" (yes, that's right) has views down to Sintra North and beyond. Make sure you try the buffet breakfast. Everything freshly prepared by Katja or Ana. Both, as well as Manuel welcoming and helpful.
